Some clients have drawn plans already and some don’t know who to engage to begin the process. Firstly, either a architect, building designer or draftsman can help. Architects are far more than designers, they spend upwards of 5 years in higher education and can design, plan and manage the entire building.

An architect will deliver something different from what you can dream up yourself,however if your thinking of employing an architect but you’re not willing to allow the design intent to come to the fore, maybe an architect isn’t for you

The Process

Initial discussions

Every project starts with an idea. From magazines to online the possibilities are endless. It’s our job to weave your ideas into a concept.​​ Book a free no obligation consultation to discuss your needs and wants within the project.​ Ideally you will bring to the meeting a brief, photos you like and an idea of budget. ​During the course of the meeting feel free to ask as many questions as you wish.

Design Phase

From earlier discussions, preliminary plans are drawn containing proposed design concepts for approval.

During this stage, our trusted team consisting of designers, draftsmen, surveyors and engineers take care of preliminaries as we move forward to obtain a building permit. We work closely with our clients discussing in detail the finishes and fixtures, ​keeping in mind the budget and style of the project.

Construction Phase

Once a building permit has been obtained construction will commence You can sit back in the comfort of knowing you have one point of call and your vision is not lost in a chain of commands From initial design phase to construction phase your project manager is also your builder who is onsite closely working with trusted trades to bring your vision to life.

A Building designer is not an architect but can offer a similar design and documentation at a fee less than an architect.

Draftsmans can assist in a situation where the client has preconceived ideas of how they would like the layout and feel of there project and just wish for plans to be drawn to obtain a building permit.

Its always important to be really clear about budgets and timelines from the start.

Remember architects, building designers and draftsman are not quantity estimators and can’t be expected to know the exact figure of the project. This can lead to project plans becoming overdrawn and above budget.

By engaging a builder and his team, the client, builder and designer can work together to achieve the right design whilst the builder can be on hand to offer guidence on structual elements, design practicality and budget constraints.
